History and Performance Notes

This was quite an undertaking, especially playing it once it was complete! In order to perform this music, the quartet must be very experienced playing together because I've taken music for a plucked instrument and turned it into a fabulous piece for four wind players. The piece is presented as four playing scores because it is so critical that everyone knows where they are in relation to what the others are doing. Playing certain parts of this edition is like playing in a handbell choir- your part weaves in and out of the texture seamlessly and all four voices together produce a single line. Like Charlie's Angels or maybe the Del Rubio Triplets, but with four instead of three.
