History and Performance Notes Sheli Nan is a composer, author, teacher and performer living in the Berkeley Hills of California. This edition houses a collection of guitar and vocal pieces with one lute transcription. It is an eclectic mix of pieces ranging from incidental theatre music to Baroque-inspired dances from the epoch of the French suite. Of the four pieces for guitar and voice(s), two have a vocal text by William Butler Yeats (1865–1939), from the “Cuchulain Cycle”. The guitar can vary the accompaniment for all the songs as long as the harmony remains intact, in the tradition of the Baroque continuo. There are five duets for guitars; the Allemande Gilmartin and Sicilienne reference dances from the French Baroque, while the other three duets reference forms from the Elizabethan period. The one piece scored for both guitar and for lute, Love Letter to Telemann, references the music of Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767), a leading composer of the German High Baroque. All selections previously published by PRB Productions, Albany, CA. This edition compiled with permission from the publisher. Performance notes In keeping with the Baroque Style, grace notes are to be played on the beat:
